100 KB photo size: resize image to 100 KB

Get the 100 KB photo size used by NTA, UPSC and many state forms. Your photo, signature or declaration comes back as a JPG between 90 and 100 KB, made on your device.

We'll make your photo 100 KB.

Target size

Leave empty unless your form gives a minimum, like 20 KB for IBPS photos.

The picture may get smaller in pixels (at most 2000 px on the long side) so it stays sharp at low KB.

Your file will be 90–100 KB.

About this tool and size

When to resize an image to 100 KB

NEET UG and JEE Main accept a signature of 10–100 KB, and UPSC CSE, NDA and CDS want the signature, written three times, at 20–100 KB. India Post GDS takes a 320×400 px photo of 30–100 KB, CTET caps its photo at 100 KB, and MPPSC allows 25–100 KB for the photo with name and date. Every handwritten declaration on IBPS, SBI and RBI forms must be 50–100 KB.

How a 100 KB photo size JPG looks

At 100 KB a face photo keeps fine detail and a signed page or declaration stays readable line by line. You will rarely see compression blocks unless the picture has a busy, noisy background.

As a rough guide, a passport-style photo on a plain background stays clean at about 390×520 pixels in 100 KB. A busy background or a dim, noisy shot needs more kilobytes for the same size, and a signature on white paper needs far fewer.

What you will get

Whatever you add, the download is a baseline JPG (not progressive) between 90 and 100 KB. It stays under 1,00,000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes, and hidden camera and location data are removed.

Tip before you compress

For a handwritten declaration, write on plain white paper, photograph it straight from above in good light, and crop to the text before compressing.

Exams with a 100 KB limit

These forms set a maximum of 100 KB for at least one document: JEE Main (signature, 10–100 KB); CTET (photograph, 10–100 KB); NABARD Grade A (handwritten declaration, 50–100 KB); SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) (handwritten declaration, 50–100 KB); IBPS PO (handwritten declaration, 50–100 KB); IBPS Clerk (handwritten declaration, 50–100 KB). Open your exam page for the full rules, including pixel sizes and background.

Other sizes and ranges

Pick the size just under the limit printed on your form. If the form gives both a minimum and a maximum, a range page fills in the minimum for you.

How to use it

  1. Add your image. Take a photo or pick one from your gallery. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files all work.
  2. Check the target. 100 KB is already selected. Type a minimum if your form sets one, and decide whether the pixel size may change.
  3. Let it work. The tool tries the highest JPEG quality that stays under 100 KB and makes the picture smaller only when it has to.
  4. Download. When every line of the pass check has a tick, save the JPG and upload it to your form.

Questions

Do I need to change the pixel size for 100 KB?

Usually not. A normal phone photo is reduced to a sensible size automatically, and you can switch on Keep dimensions if the pixels must not change.

My form says 50–100 KB. Is this the right page?

Yes. The result is 90–100 KB, which is inside 50–100 KB. For a value nearer the middle, try the 50–100 KB range page and lower the target.

Can I convert a 40 KB photo into 100 KB?

Yes. The tool raises the JPEG quality to reach 90–100 KB. That adds no new detail, so do it only when a form sets a minimum; a photo under 100 KB already passes a "maximum 100 KB" rule.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression runs inside your browser on your own device. The page even works offline after your first visit.
