Photo is taken live in the form

You don't need to upload a photo for RRB NTPC (Graduate). The form takes it with your webcam or phone camera. Here's how to get the live photo right:

Pure plain white background, no scenery, plants or pictures behind you
Wear plain dark, non-white clothes that cover shoulders and chest
Camera at eye level; look straight with a neutral face and eyes fully open
Head fills at least half the photo; nothing below the chest in frame
No cap, mask or glasses; hair or cloth must not cover the face
No shade on the face and no strong light behind you

Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the RRB NTPC (Graduate) portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: File size should be between 30 KB and 49 KB: Fix: A clean signature is usually 10–20 KB, so it fails the 30 KB minimum. SahiSize first enlarges the image (still at least 140×60), then raises quality, and only then adds invisible padding until it reaches 30–49 KB.
Error: Signature written in BLOCK or CAPITAL letters instead of running handwriting: Fix: This is an official rejection ground. Sign in joined, running handwriting the way you sign a cheque.
Error: Use of a non-white background: Fix: Lined notebook paper, a yellowish page or a shadow counts as non-white. Sign on plain white paper and keep Clean signature on to make the background pure white.
Error: Use of non-black ink for the signature: Fix: Blue ink is not allowed for RRB. Sign again with a black pen.
Error: Live photo not matched with Photo ID: Fix: If the live photo does not match your ID, the form asks you to download Annexure VIII, get it attested and upload it. Retake the live photo in good light first.

About the RRB NTPC (Graduate) upload rules

For RRB NTPC Graduate (CEN 06/2026), the official notice gives online applications from 08.10.2026 to 06.11.2026 (23:59), with the fee due by 08.11.2026. Check the current notice for the dates of your cycle, and prepare your signature before you start so the form takes minutes.

What the NTPC form asks for

No photo upload. A live photo is captured with your webcam or phone front camera.
Signature: JPG, at least 140×60 px, 30–49 KB, at least 100 DPI, black ink, centred in a 35×20 mm box, running handwriting.
SC/ST certificate: PDF under 400 KB, only if you want a free train travel pass.

Before you start the form

Sign in running handwriting with a black pen on plain white paper.
Make sign.jpg here. Auto-fit takes it into the 30–49 KB range without making it blurry.
If you need the travel pass, make scst.pdf from your latest valid certificate.
Set up the live photo spot: white wall, light in front of you, phone or webcam at eye level.
Wear plain dark clothes that cover shoulders and chest, so you stand out from the white background.

The live photo, in detail

RRB asks that your head fills at least half the photo and nothing below the chest is visible. Keep a neutral face with eyes fully open; the notice says a photo with closed eyes will not be captured. Remove cap, mask and glasses, and keep hair off your face. You can preview and retake until you submit.

Matching later

The live photo is checked against your photo ID. If they do not match, you will be asked to download Annexure VIII, get it attested and upload it. The signature is compared at the CBT, DV, medical and appointment.

Last-week advice

Servers slow down near the last date. Submit early. If the signature upload fails, confirm 30–49 KB and JPG in the Pass check card, then try again outside peak hours.

Do I upload a photo for RRB NTPC?

No. RRB captures a live photo with your webcam or phone front camera while you fill the form. You only upload your signature (and the SC/ST certificate if you want a free travel pass).

What is the signature size for RRB NTPC?

Why is my 15 KB signature rejected? Smaller is better, right?
