Upload errors and how to fix them
These are the messages the IBPS PO portal shows. Each one has a fix.
- Error:
Invalid file size
- Fix: The IBPS portal checks KB before anything else. Photo must be 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB, thumb 20–50 KB, declaration 50–100 KB. Use Auto-fit; it lands inside the range.
- Error:
Please upload a valid image
- Fix: Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. A PNG renamed to .jpg, a HEIC photo from an iPhone or a PDF will fail. SahiSize always saves a real JPG.
- Error:
Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted
- Fix: This rule is in the notice itself. Re-write the signature and the declaration in normal running handwriting, then upload again.
- Error:
Image is unclear / smudged
- Fix: Usually a dark or blurry phone photo of the paper. Retake in daylight, keep the phone parallel to the paper, and leave Clean signature/thumb on.
- Error:
Photo uploaded in place of signature
- Fix: Each upload box takes only its own document. Use the file names SahiSize gives (photo.jpg, sign.jpg, thumb.jpg, decl.jpg) so you never mix them up.
- Error:
The system will not allow the candidate to move forward to the next stage
- Fix: IBPS blocks the next step until photo and signature match the specs. Check both files in the Pass check card before uploading.
Handwritten declaration text
Copy this text in your own handwriting, in English, on white paper. Fill in your name.
I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.About the IBPS PO upload rules
IBPS PO (CRP PO/MT-XVI) asks for five uploads, not four. Besides the usual photo, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration, the 2026 notice adds your Class 10 (SSC/SSLC) certificate as a PDF. The 2026 application window was 01–21 July 2026.
The five files at a glance
- Photo: 200×230 px, 20–50 KB, JPG, light background.
- Signature: 140×60 px, 10–20 KB, black ink, not in capitals.
- Left thumb: 240×240 px, 20–50 KB, black or blue ink.
- Declaration: 800×400 px, 50–100 KB, English, your own handwriting.
- 10th certificate: one PDF on A4 pages, not more than 500 KB.
Step by step
- Scan or photograph your 10th certificate first. If it has two pages, add both here; SahiSize joins them into one A4 PDF under 500 KB and keeps the text readable.
- On a white sheet, sign, put the left thumb impression, and write the IBPS declaration: “I, ______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” Unlike SBI, there is no Date of Birth line.
- Take the photo against a light wall, then crop each item here and run Auto-fit.
- Keep the ZIP. IBPS will not let you move to the next stage of the form until the photo and signature meet the specs.
Special cases IBPS allows
- No left thumb: use the right thumb. No thumbs: a finger of the left hand, starting with the forefinger, and write which finger it is.
- Cannot write: get the declaration typed and put your left thumb impression below it.
- A declaration in Hindi or in someone else’s handwriting is treated as invalid.
If the portal still says no
Look at which upload failed. For the PDF, the usual problem is a phone scan saved as a huge image; rebuild it here. For images, run Auto-fit from the original photo again rather than compressing an already small file twice.
IBPS PO size FAQ
What is the photo and signature size for IBPS PO?
Photo 200×230 pixels, 20–50 KB; signature 140×60 pixels, 10–20 KB; left thumb 240×240 pixels, 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800×400 pixels, 50–100 KB. All JPG.
What size is the 10th certificate for IBPS PO?
One PDF on A4 pages, not more than 500 KB. If your scan is bigger, combine and compress it here; the text stays readable.
What do I write in the IBPS PO handwritten declaration?
Copy the exact text shown on this page in English, in your own running handwriting, with black ink on white paper. Fill in your name. Do not write in capital letters and do not sign at the bottom unless the form asks.
Do I still upload a photo if IBPS PO captures a live photo?
Yes. You upload the scanned photo AND capture a live photo with the webcam or by scanning the QR code with your phone. Both should look like you today: same glasses, same beard.
I don't have a left thumb. What do I upload for IBPS PO?
Use the right thumb. If both thumbs are missing, use a finger of the left hand starting from the forefinger, and write which finger it is on the paper.
I cannot write. What about the declaration?
IBPS allows such candidates to get the declaration text typed and put their left thumb impression below it, then upload that as the declaration.
Can I write the declaration in Hindi?
No. IBPS treats a declaration in any other language, or written by someone else, as invalid. Write it in English in your own hand.
