Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the SBI PO portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: Invalid file size: Fix: The SBI portal checks KB before anything else. Photo must be 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB, thumb 20–50 KB, declaration 50–100 KB. Use Auto-fit; it lands inside the range.
Error: Please upload a valid image: Fix: Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. A PNG renamed to .jpg, a HEIC photo from an iPhone or a PDF will fail. SahiSize always saves a real JPG.
Error: Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted: Fix: This rule is in the notice itself. Re-write the signature and the declaration in normal running handwriting, then upload again.
Error: Image is unclear / smudged: Fix: Usually a dark or blurry phone photo of the paper. Retake in daylight, keep the phone parallel to the paper, and leave Clean signature/thumb on.
Error: Photo uploaded in place of signature: Fix: Each upload box takes only its own document. Use the file names SahiSize gives (photo.jpg, sign.jpg, thumb.jpg, decl.jpg) so you never mix them up.
Error: Session expired. Please login again: Fix: The SBI form logs you out if you take too long. Prepare all four files here first, then upload them in one go.

Handwritten declaration text

Copy this text in your own handwriting, in English, on white paper. Fill in your name.

I ________ (Name of the candidate), _______ (Date of Birth) hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left-hand thumb impression is of mine.

SBI PO photo and signature: what gets rejected

SBI PO uses the same four uploads as SBI Clerk, but candidates usually apply in June–July, a few months earlier. If you applied for SBI Clerk last year, much of your work can be reused, but not all of it.

The SBI PO 2026 declaration reads “I ________ (Name of the candidate), _______ (Date of Birth) hereby declare…” and ends with “The signature, photograph and left-hand thumb impression is of mine.” The wording is close to the clerk text but not identical, so copy the version shown on this page.

A calm way to do it

Sit at a table near a window. Bright, even light matters more than the camera.
Sign three or four times on white paper and pick the cleanest one. Do not sign in capitals.
Press the left thumb once on an ink pad and once, flat, on paper, with only a slight roll so the edges print. Do not slide or smudge it.
Write the declaration slowly in your normal handwriting. If you make a mistake, start again on a new sheet; overwriting looks smudged once scanned.
Crop each item here. Clean signature and Clean thumb make the paper pure white so the ink stands out.

Glasses, religious headwear and the live photo

Regular glasses are fine if there is no glare. Religious headwear is allowed if your face is not covered. Caps and dark glasses are not. The live photo captured in the form should match the uploaded one, so take both on the same day if you can.

If something is rejected

Most rejections are KB errors after a second edit, or a signature that is too faint. Re-run Auto-fit on the original image rather than on an already compressed file, and darken the signature by signing again with a fresh black pen.

What is the photo and signature size for SBI PO?

Photo 200×230 pixels, 20–50 KB; signature 140×60 pixels, 10–20 KB; left thumb 240×240 pixels, 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800×400 pixels, 50–100 KB. All JPG.

Are SBI PO and SBI Clerk sizes the same?

Yes, all four documents use the same pixels and KB. The declaration text is also the SBI version with Date of Birth, so one set of files works for both if you apply in the same year.

What do I write in the SBI PO handwritten declaration?

Copy the exact text shown on this page in English, in your own running handwriting, with black ink on white paper. Fill in your name and date of birth. Do not write in capital letters and do not sign at the bottom unless the form asks.

Do I still upload a photo if SBI PO captures a live photo?

Yes. You upload the scanned photo AND capture a live photo with the webcam or by scanning the QR code with your phone. Both should look like you today: same glasses, same beard.

I don't have a left thumb. What do I upload for SBI PO?

Use the right thumb. If both thumbs are missing, use a finger of the left hand starting from the forefinger, and write which finger it is on the paper.

Can I wear glasses in the SBI PO photo?

Regular glasses are fine if there is no reflection and your eyes are clearly visible. Dark or tinted glasses are not accepted.

My signature looks different at the exam. Is that a problem?

Yes, it can be. SBI disqualifies a candidate if the signature on the call letter or attendance sheet does not match the uploaded one. Upload the signature you will actually use.
