Upload sizes

Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the RBI Grade B portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: Invalid file size
Fix: The RBI portal checks KB before anything else. Photo must be 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB, thumb 20–50 KB, declaration 50–100 KB. Use Auto-fit; it lands inside the range.
Error: Please upload a valid image
Fix: Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. A PNG renamed to .jpg, a HEIC photo from an iPhone or a PDF will fail. SahiSize always saves a real JPG.
Error: Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted
Fix: This rule is in the notice itself. Re-write the signature and the declaration in normal running handwriting, then upload again.
Error: Image is unclear / smudged
Fix: Usually a dark or blurry phone photo of the paper. Retake in daylight, keep the phone parallel to the paper, and leave Clean signature/thumb on.
Error: Photo uploaded in place of signature
Fix: Each upload box takes only its own document. Use the file names SahiSize gives (photo.jpg, sign.jpg, thumb.jpg, decl.jpg) so you never mix them up.

About the RBI Grade B upload rules

RBI Grade B (DR) applications for Panel Year 2026 ran from 29 April to 20 May 2026. Our values are checked against Appendix-I of the official RBI notice (Advt. No. RBISB/DA/01/2026-27). The photo and signature specs match the standard bank portal. The notice also fixes the KB limits for the left thumb and the handwritten declaration, but not their pixel sizes, so this page marks those two as disputed.

What we use and why

  • Photo: 200×230 px, 20–50 KB.
  • Signature: 140×60 px, 10–20 KB.
  • Left thumb: 240×240 px, 20–50 KB. Disputed.
  • Declaration: 800×400 px, 50–100 KB. Disputed.

The Grade B notice lists one “preferred” size, 140×60 px, for the signature, thumb and declaration together. For the thumb and the declaration we use the pixel sizes that RBI’s own Assistant notice gives for the same form, 240×240 px and 800×400 px. The KB limits are exactly as printed. If the portal asks for a different pixel size, use the custom size option.

Before you open the form

  1. Download the RBI Grade B notice and open Appendix-I, part (D), on scanning and uploading.
  2. Compare the four sizes with the list above. Note any difference.
  3. Make the files here. For any size that differs, switch that document to custom size.
  4. Write the declaration text exactly as printed in the notice. The text on this page is copied from it.

Separate forms for each stream

DR (General) and DEPR or DSIM use separate application links, and each needs its own fee. The uploads and their sizes are the same in every form, so you can reuse the same files.

Small details that matter

  • Sign in your normal running hand, not capitals. Use the same signature on the exam day.
  • Use a stamp pad for the thumb; ballpoint ink rubbed on the thumb smudges.
  • Keep the declaration on unruled white paper with black ink.
  • The live photo taken in the form should match your uploaded photo.

If something is refused

If the thumb or declaration upload fails with a size error even though our Pass check is green, the portal wants a different pixel size. Read the size from the error message, switch that document to custom size, and fit it again.

RBI Grade B size FAQ

What is the photo and signature size for RBI Grade B?

Photo 200×230 pixels, 20–50 KB; signature 140×60 pixels, 10–20 KB; left thumb 240×240 pixels, 20–50 KB; handwritten declaration 800×400 pixels, 50–100 KB. All JPG.

Why are the thumb and declaration marked "disputed"?

The 2026 notice confirms their KB limits (thumb 20–50 KB, declaration 50–100 KB) but lists one "preferred" 140×60 px size for the signature, thumb and declaration together. We use 240×240 px and 800×400 px, the sizes RBI's Assistant notice gives for the same form. If the portal asks for something else, use the custom size option.

What do I write in the RBI Grade B handwritten declaration?

Copy the exact text shown on this page in English, in your own running handwriting, with black ink on white paper. Fill in your name. Do not write in capital letters and do not sign at the bottom unless the form asks.

Do I still upload a photo if RBI Grade B captures a live photo?

Yes. You upload the scanned photo AND capture a live photo with the webcam or by scanning the QR code with your phone. Both should look like you today: same glasses, same beard.

I don't have a left thumb. What do I upload for RBI Grade B?

Use the right thumb. If both thumbs are missing, use a finger of the left hand starting from the forefinger, and write which finger it is on the paper.

Is it the same form for DR General, DEPR and DSIM?

No. The notice asks you to apply through separate links, and pay separately, for DR General and for DEPR or DSIM. The uploads and their sizes are the same in each form.
