Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the RBI Assistant portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: Invalid file size: Fix: The RBI portal checks KB before anything else. Photo must be 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB, thumb 20–50 KB, declaration 50–100 KB. Use Auto-fit; it lands inside the range.
Error: Please upload a valid image: Fix: Only JPG/JPEG is accepted. A PNG renamed to .jpg, a HEIC photo from an iPhone or a PDF will fail. SahiSize always saves a real JPG.
Error: Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted: Fix: This rule is in the notice itself. Re-write the signature and the declaration in normal running handwriting, then upload again.
Error: Image is unclear / smudged: Fix: Usually a dark or blurry phone photo of the paper. Retake in daylight, keep the phone parallel to the paper, and leave Clean signature/thumb on.
Error: Photo uploaded in place of signature: Fix: Each upload box takes only its own document. Use the file names SahiSize gives (photo.jpg, sign.jpg, thumb.jpg, decl.jpg) so you never mix them up.

About the RBI Assistant upload rules

RBI Assistant uses the same style of bank portal as IBPS and SBI, with the same four uploads. Our values are checked against the official RBI notice for the Panel Year 2025 recruitment (section 9.6), whose form ran from 16 February to 8 March 2026.

Taking the photo at home

You do not need a studio. A plain light wall and daylight are enough.

Stand about an arm’s length from the wall so there is no shadow behind you.
Face a window, or put a lamp in front of you, not behind.
Ask someone to hold the phone at your eye level. Do not use the selfie camera up close; it widens the nose and face.
Crop here with the face guide. The result is a 200×230 px photo between 20 and 50 KB.

Signature, thumb and declaration

Sign on white paper with a black pen. Not in capital letters.
Press the left thumb on an ink pad, then once on white paper. Black or blue ink is fine.
Write the declaration in English, in your own running handwriting. We show the exact text printed in the RBI notice. Copy it word for word, with your name in the blank.

The live photo

The notice also asks for a live photo, captured in the form by webcam or by scanning a QR code with your phone. Keep the same glasses and look as in the uploaded photo.

If an upload fails

A size error is fixed by running Auto-fit again on the original picture. A “not valid image” error usually means a HEIC or PNG file; download a fresh JPG from SahiSize. If everything passes here but the portal refuses it, note the exact message and check the RBI notice for any change in sizes this year.

What is the photo and signature size for RBI Assistant?

Is the RBI Assistant form run on the IBPS portal?

It uses the same style of portal, with the same four uploads and the same sizes as IBPS and SBI exams.

What do I write in the RBI Assistant handwritten declaration?

Copy the exact text shown on this page in English, in your own running handwriting, with black ink on white paper. Fill in your name. Do not write in capital letters and do not sign at the bottom unless the form asks.

Do I still upload a photo if RBI Assistant captures a live photo?

Yes. You upload the scanned photo AND capture a live photo with the webcam or by scanning the QR code with your phone. Both should look like you today: same glasses, same beard.

I don't have a left thumb. What do I upload for RBI Assistant?

Use the right thumb. If both thumbs are missing, use a finger of the left hand starting from the forefinger, and write which finger it is on the paper.

Can I take the photo with my phone instead of a studio?

Yes. Stand in front of a plain light wall in daylight, hold the phone at eye level, and crop here. The result is a proper 200×230 photo of 20–50 KB.
