Upload errors and how to fix them
These are the messages the NEET UG portal shows. Each one has a fix.
- Error:
File size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb
- Fix: Your NEET photo is too big (or below 10 KB). Phone photos are 2–5 MB; Auto-fit brings it inside 10–200 KB without changing what you look like.
- Error:
Signature file size should be between 10 kb to 100 kb
- Fix: The signature limit is smaller than the photo limit. Crop tight around the ink and Auto-fit to 10–100 KB.
- Error:
Invalid file type. Only JPG/JPEG allowed
- Fix: iPhone HEIC or PNG screenshots are refused. SahiSize converts any photo to a real JPG.
- Error:
Live photo not matched
- Fix: The live photo did not match Aadhaar. Retake it in better light without a cap or new glasses. If it still fails, NTA asks for the attested photo certificate from the bulletin annexure.
- Error:
PDF size should be between 50 kb to 300 kb
- Fix: Certificates must be one PDF of 50–300 KB. A single clean page is often under 50 KB; SahiSize adds quality until it crosses the minimum.
- Error:
Unclear Left and Right hand fingers and thumb Impressions
- Fix: NEET rejects forms with smudged prints. Use a stamp pad, press it flat once with only a slight roll and no sliding, and keep Clean thumb on so the background turns white.
NEET photo upload, postcard size photo and admit card photo
NEET UG asks for more uploads than any other NTA exam: a photo, a signature, one sheet of finger and thumb prints from both hands, and several PDFs. NTA gives no pixel sizes, only KB ranges, and it does not let you correct the photo, signature or prints after you submit. So it pays to prepare everything before you open the form.
Get every file right in one sitting
- Photo. Take a new one in the exam year (the bulletin sets the earliest date), against a white wall, with your face filling about 80% of the frame and both ears showing. Colour or black and white both work. SahiSize keeps a 3.5×4.5 cm shape and lands it inside 10–200 KB.
- Signature. Black pen on white paper. Crop close to the ink. The limit is 10–100 KB.
- Finger and thumb sheet. Ink all four fingers and the thumb of each hand. Press the left hand on the left half of one white A4 sheet and the right hand on the right half. Photograph it in landscape.
- PDFs. Class 10 certificate and address proof are needed by everyone. Category and PwD certificates only if they apply to you. Each one is a single PDF of 50–300 KB.
Why 50–200 KB for the prints
The bulletin gives two ranges for the finger and thumb impressions: 10–200 KB in the list of uploads and 50–300 KB in the detailed instructions. A file between 50 and 200 KB meets both, so that is what SahiSize targets.
Postcard size photo for NEET, and the admit card photo
Older NEET forms asked for a postcard-size (4×6 inch) photo upload; the 2026 bulletin, as we read it, asks only for the passport-style photo above. A printed postcard-size photo can still be needed on exam day, so read your admit card, and print copies of the photo you uploaded with the passport photo sheet tool.
Live photo
The form also captures a live photo and matches it with your Aadhaar record. Sit facing a window, remove a cap or mask, and keep the same look as your uploaded photo.
Timing
For NEET UG 2026 the form ran from 08 February to 08 March 2026. Expect the next one around February–March.
If the portal still rejects a file
Check the KB on the Pass check card first; most errors are size. If a PDF is under 50 KB, add the page again here so the quality goes up. If the prints look grey, retake with less ink and keep Clean thumb on.
NEET photo size FAQ
What is the photo and signature size for NEET UG?
Photo 10–200 KB and signature 10–100 KB, both JPG/JPEG. NTA gives no pixel size, only the KB range.
Is the NEET finger impression 10–200 KB or 50–300 KB?
The bulletin gives both. A file of 50–200 KB satisfies both rules, so that is what SahiSize makes.
How do I put all ten finger impressions in one image?
Use one white sheet: left hand prints on the left half, right hand on the right half, each print separate. Photograph it in landscape and crop to the prints.
What is the live photo in NEET UG?
Besides the uploaded photo, the form captures a live photo with your webcam or phone (scan the QR code). It is matched with Aadhaar, so take it in good light and look like your recent photo.
Does the NEET photo need my name and date?
Not in the 2026 bulletin. It must be recent (taken in 2026), on a white background with 80% face and both ears visible. Keep 6–8 prints for the exam and counselling.
Which certificates do I upload as PDF for NEET?
Class 10 certificate, address proof, and if applicable the category and PwD certificates. Each is a PDF of 50–300 KB.
Can I correct the photo after submitting?
NTA says no correction facility is given for photo, signature and finger impressions, so check them in the Pass check card before uploading.
Does NEET still ask for a postcard size photo?
Not as an upload in the 2026 bulletin as we read it: the form takes one passport-style photo of 10–200 KB. Older NEET forms asked for a postcard-size (4×6 inch) photo upload, which is why many guides still mention it. A printed postcard-size photo can still be needed on exam day, so read your admit card when it comes out.
What is the NEET admit card photo size?
The admit card prints the photo you uploaded, so get the upload right first. On exam day you paste a passport-size print of the same photo on the attendance sheet, and the admit card says whether you also need a postcard-size print for the proforma. Print a few copies of the same photo with the passport photo sheet tool.
Is a passport size photo fine for NEET?
Yes. A passport-style photo with a white background, the face filling about 80% of the frame and both ears visible is what the 2026 form wants. SahiSize keeps 3.5×4.5 cm proportions and brings the file inside 10–200 KB.
