200 KB photo size: resize image to 200 KB

Need the 200 KB photo size for an NTA or UPSC form? Add your photo and download a JPG between 180 and 200 KB, processed on your own phone.

We'll make your photo 200 KB.

JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 25 MB

Processed on your device. Never uploaded.

More optionsNow: 200 KB. Tap to pick another size.
Target size

Leave empty unless your form gives a minimum, like 20 KB for IBPS photos.

The picture may get smaller in pixels (at most 2000 px on the long side) so it stays sharp at low KB.

Your file will be 180–200 KB.

About this tool and size

Forms that let you resize an image to 200 KB

NEET UG, JEE Main, CUET UG, UGC NET and CSIR NET accept a photograph from 10 to 200 KB, and UPSC CSE, NDA and CDS want 20–200 KB. The IAF Agniveervayu photo has a high minimum: 100–200 KB. NEET UG also asks for the finger and thumb impressions of both hands as one 50–200 KB image.

What you get in a 200 KB photo size JPG

The result leaves a detailed, high-quality photo. If your file is already smaller, we raise the quality so it is not too small for a minimum such as the IAF 100 KB.

As a rough guide, a passport-style photo on a plain background stays clean at about 550×730 pixels in 200 KB. A busy background or a dim, noisy shot needs more kilobytes for the same size, and a signature on white paper needs far fewer.

What you will get

Whatever you add, the download is a baseline JPG (not progressive) between 180 and 200 KB. It stays under 2,00,000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes, and hidden camera and location data are removed.

Tip before you compress

Large limits do not mean any photo works. Check the background colour and the face size rules on your exam page too; file size is only one of the checks.

Exams with a 200 KB limit

These forms set a maximum of 200 KB for at least one document: UGC NET (photograph, 10–200 KB); CSIR UGC NET (photograph, 10–200 KB); CSIR UGC NET (identity proof, 10–200 KB); JEE Main (photograph, 10–200 KB); JEE Main (identity proof, 10–200 KB); NEET UG (photograph, 10–200 KB). Open your exam page for the full rules, including pixel sizes and background.

Other sizes and ranges

Pick the size just under the limit printed on your form. If the form gives both a minimum and a maximum, a range page fills in the minimum for you.

How to use it

  1. Add your image. Take a photo or pick one from your gallery. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files all work.
  2. Check the target. 200 KB is already selected. Type a minimum if your form sets one, and decide whether the pixel size may change.
  3. Let it work. The tool tries the highest JPEG quality that stays under 200 KB and makes the picture smaller only when it has to.
  4. Download. When every line of the pass check has a tick, save the JPG and upload it to your form.

Questions

Why make a 120 KB photo bigger?

Only if you choose 200 KB. If your form accepts 10–200 KB, a 120 KB photo is already fine, so pick a smaller target or upload it as it is.

Can I use this for a postcard-size photo?

Yes. Choose Keep dimensions to keep the exact pixels and change only the file size.

Is a bigger file always better?

Not past the size the portal displays. If your form accepts 10–200 KB, a sharp 60 KB photo is as good as a 190 KB one. Pick 200 KB when the form sets a high minimum.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression runs inside your browser on your own device. The page even works offline after your first visit.
