About this tool and size
Forms with a 300 KB limit
DSSSB asks for a postcard-size photograph of 480×672 px at 50–300 KB. NTA forms such as NEET UG, JEE Main, CUET UG, UGC NET and CSIR NET set 50–300 KB for certificates like the disability certificate, but those uploads are PDFs; for them use Compress PDF or Images to PDF instead of this page.
How much fits in 300 KB
Three hundred kilobytes holds more photo than any exam photo field needs. For a document photographed as a JPG, it keeps an A4 page sharp enough to read the smallest line.
As a rough guide, a passport-style photo on a plain background stays clean at about 670×890 pixels in 300 KB. A busy background or a dim, noisy shot needs more kilobytes for the same size, and a signature on white paper needs far fewer.
What you will get
Whatever you add, the download is a baseline JPG (not progressive) between 270 and 300 KB. It stays under 3,00,000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes, and hidden camera and location data are removed.
Tip before you compress
If a form gives a wide range like 50–300 KB, you do not have to go near the top. A 100 KB photo uploads faster on a weak connection and passes the same rule.
Exams with a 300 KB limit
These forms set a maximum of 300 KB for at least one document: DSSSB (Delhi) (photograph (postcard size), 50–300 KB). Open your exam page for the full rules, including pixel sizes and background.
How to use it
- Add your image. Take a photo or pick one from your gallery. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files all work.
- Check the target. 300 KB is already selected. Type a minimum if your form sets one, and decide whether the pixel size may change.
- Let it work. The tool tries the highest JPEG quality that stays under 300 KB and makes the picture smaller only when it has to.
- Download. When every line of the pass check has a tick, save the JPG and upload it to your form.
Questions
Is 300kb the same as 300 KB?
Yes, both mean three hundred kilobytes. Portals write it either way; some count 1 KB as 1024 bytes and others as 1000, and this file passes both.
Can I make a 300 KB PDF here?
No, this page makes JPG files. Use Images to PDF to combine JPGs into one PDF under a KB limit.
Will my 4 MB photo still look good at 300 KB?
Yes. A 4 MB phone photo is mostly pixels a form never shows. Reduced to a sensible size, it looks the same on screen at 300 KB.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs inside your browser on your own device. The page even works offline after your first visit.
