About this tool and size
Good uses for 80 KB
An 80 KB file suits any 50–100 KB rule while keeping a clear margin under the cap: the IBPS, SBI, RBI and NABARD handwritten declaration, the REET Aadhaar card and marksheet images, and the IAF Agniveervayu thumb. One trap: the IAF Agniveervayu signature must be at least 80 KB (80–150 KB). A file of 72–80 KB can fall short, so use the 100 KB or 150 KB page for it.
How an 80 KB photo looks
At 80 KB a portrait shows fine hair and fabric texture, and a photographed document keeps crisp printed text. On a phone screen most people cannot tell an 80 KB face photo from the original.
As a rough guide, a passport-style photo on a plain background stays clean at about 350×470 pixels in 80 KB. A busy background or a dim, noisy shot needs more kilobytes for the same size, and a signature on white paper needs far fewer.
What you will get
Whatever you add, the download is a baseline JPG (not progressive) between 72 and 80 KB. It stays under 80,000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes, and hidden camera and location data are removed.
Tip before you compress
If your document photo has a shadow from your hand or phone, retake it near a window. Compression keeps shadows faithfully, and a dark corner can hide text.
How to use it
- Add your image. Take a photo or pick one from your gallery. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files all work.
- Check the target. 80 KB is already selected. Type a minimum if your form sets one, and decide whether the pixel size may change.
- Let it work. The tool tries the highest JPEG quality that stays under 80 KB and makes the picture smaller only when it has to.
- Download. When every line of the pass check has a tick, save the JPG and upload it to your form.
Questions
Why does the IAF signature need 80 KB or more?
That is the IAF rule: 80–150 KB. Use the 100 KB page, which lands at 90–100 KB, inside the range.
Is 80 KB fine for a 50–100 KB handwritten declaration?
Yes. A file of 72–80 KB is inside the range with about 20 KB to spare.
Will my image be resized to reach 80 KB?
Only made smaller if it is too big. A normal phone photo is reduced to a sensible size; a small image keeps its pixels and gets higher quality instead.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs inside your browser on your own device. The page even works offline after your first visit.
