Upload errors and how to fix them
These are the messages the India Post GDS portal shows. Each one has a fix.
- Error:
File size should be between 30 KB and 100 KB
- Fix: A tight-cropped 320×400 photo can come out under 30 KB. Auto-fit raises quality to land inside 30–100 KB.
- Error:
Signature is pixelated or shaky
- Fix: GDS rejects shaky or pixelated signatures. Sign slowly with a dark pen and photograph in daylight; do not zoom a tiny signature.
- Error:
Typed or digital signature not allowed
- Fix: Sign by hand on white paper. A signature drawn on the phone screen is not accepted.
- Error:
Incorrect aspect ratio
- Fix: Photo must be 4:5 and signature 5:2. SahiSize locks the crop to those shapes.
- Error:
Signature does not fill the image
- Fix: The notice wants the signature to cover 70–80% of the image with no borders. Crop close to the ink; Clean signature removes paper edges and shadows.
India Post GDS upload rules
India Post GDS is one of the few forms that states its rules in shapes, not just sizes. The photo is 4:5 and the signature is 5:2. If you crop a photo to a square or a signature to a long thin strip, it will not match, even when the KB is right.
The numbers from the Schedule-II 2026 notice

Doing it on a phone
- Sit facing a window. Hold the phone at eye level, about an arm’s length away.
- In SahiSize, crop so your head and the top of your shoulders fill the 4:5 frame. The face should take most of the space; this is tighter than a typical selfie.
- Sign on white paper with a dark pen. Sign slowly; the notice warns against shaky or pixelated signatures.
- Crop close to the ink in the 5:2 frame so it covers 70–80% of the image. Clean signature removes paper edges and shadows, which count as “extra marks”.
- Save both files and pick them from your Downloads folder in the form.
What you do not upload
GDS selection is based on the Class 10 marks you type into the form. There is no certificate upload at the application stage; documents are checked later.
Timing
India Post runs several schedules a year. In 2026, Schedule-II opened in late August. Forms have usually appeared around January and August.
If the portal still rejects it
