IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) handwritten declaration: what is specific to this exam
These IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) 2026 rules come from the IBPS notice “CRP SPL-XVI”, page 44, last checked on 22 Oct 2026. The IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) form usually opens around July–August.
From our IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) notes
- IBPS Specialist Officer covers several posts, such as IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, Law Officer, HR/Personnel, Marketing and Rajbhasha Adhikari. All of them are filled through one application with the same uploads. The form usually opens around July–August; in 2026 (CRP SPL-XVI) it was open from 1 to 21 July. The sizes below are from Annexure III of the official CRP SPL-XVI notice.
- The declaration is the largest file and the easiest to get wrong. Common problems:
- Too big. A photo of a whole A4 page is several megabytes. Crop to just the written lines; SahiSize brings it to 800×400 px and 50–100 KB.
- Too small. A very tight crop with thin ink can fall under 50 KB. Auto-fit raises the quality to cross the minimum.
- Wrong text. Use the IBPS wording shown on this page, without the SBI Date of Birth line.
IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) handwritten declaration compared with similar exams
- IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, SBI PO, NABARD Grade A and IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant) use the same handwritten declaration size as IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) (800×400 px · 50–100 KB · JPG), so one file passes all these forms. IBPS PO sizes · IBPS Clerk sizes · SBI PO sizes · NABARD Grade A sizes · IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant) sizes
- IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk and NABARD Grade A prescribe the same declaration wording as IBPS SO (Specialist Officer). IBPS PO sizes · IBPS Clerk sizes · NABARD Grade A sizes
- SBI PO prescribes different declaration wording (it adds your date of birth), so a sheet written for SBI PO cannot be reused for IBPS SO (Specialist Officer). SBI PO sizes
- IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant) prescribes different declaration wording, so a sheet written for IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant) cannot be reused for IBPS SO (Specialist Officer). IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant) sizes

IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) handwritten declaration questions
Why does my declaration fail at 120 KB?
The declaration must be 50–100 KB at 800×400 pixels. A full-page phone photo is much bigger; crop to the written text and Auto-fit.
Are sizes different for IT Officer, Law Officer or AFO?
No. All IBPS SO posts use one application form with the same photo, signature, thumb and declaration specs.
