JEE Main signature: what is specific to this exam

These JEE Main 2026 rules come from the NTA notice “JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin”, page 10, last checked on 22 Oct 2026. The JEE Main form usually opens around November or February.

From our JEE Main notes

JEE Main keeps uploads short: a photo, a signature and a Class 10 PDF for everyone, plus a disability certificate and an ID proof only for some candidates. Like every NTA form, it states file sizes in KB and gives no pixel dimensions.
The signature can be larger than in CUET or UGC NET. JEE allows 10–100 KB, while those forms stop at 50 KB. Do not copy a JEE signature into them without fitting it again.
Sign on white paper in black ink, crop tight and fit it to 10–100 KB.

JEE Main signature compared with similar exams

NEET UG uses the same signature size as JEE Main (10–100 KB · JPG), so one file passes both forms. NEET UG sizes
Unlike CUET UG, which wants 10–50 KB · JPG, JEE Main wants 10–100 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. CUET UG sizes
Unlike UPSC NDA & NA, which wants 350–500 × 350–500 px · 20–100 KB · JPG, JEE Main wants 10–100 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. UPSC NDA & NA sizes

Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the JEE Main portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: Signature file size should be between 10 kb to 100 kb: Fix: The signature limit is smaller than the photo limit. Crop tight around the ink and Auto-fit to 10–100 KB.
