IAF Agniveervayu photograph: what is specific to this exam
These IAF Agniveervayu 02/2027 rules come from the Indian Air Force notice “Selection Test for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 under Agnipath Scheme (CASB advertisement, para 42.3)”, page 3, last checked on 22 Oct 2026. The IAF Agniveervayu form usually opens around January or July.
From our IAF Agniveervayu notes
- The IAF Agniveervayu form turns the usual advice upside down. Most exams want small files; here the photo must be 100–200 KB, the signature 80–150 KB and the left thumb impression 50–100 KB. A photo compressed to 30 KB for a bank form will be refused.
- Your photo must show you holding a black slate in front of your chest, with your name and the date the photo was taken written on it in white chalk, in capital letters. It must be a colour photo taken within one month of registration, on a light background, with no face mask or headgear (except for Sikh candidates). SahiSize does not add a printed strip for IAF, because the notice asks for a real slate in the picture.
- Write large; the letters must be readable after the photo is resized.
- Hold the slate below your chin so it does not cover your face.
- When cropping, keep both your face and the whole slate inside the frame.

Upload errors and how to fix them
These are the messages the IAF Agniveervayu portal shows. Each one has a fix.
- Error:
File size should be between 100 KB and 200 KB
- Fix: Unusually, the IAF photo must be at least 100 KB. Do not compress it to 20–50 KB like bank forms; Auto-fit keeps it inside 100–200 KB.
- Error:
Photo does not match live image
- Fix: The form will not submit until the uploaded photo matches the live webcam image. Take both on the same day, without changes in beard or headgear.
- Error:
Slate with name and date not visible
- Fix: The slate must be readable in the photo. Write large with white chalk and do not crop it out.
IAF Agniveervayu photograph questions
What is the IAF Agniveervayu photo size?
JPG, 100–200 KB, not older than one month, light background, holding a black slate with your name and the photo date in white chalk capitals.
Can I grow a beard after the photo?
The notice warns that a change in appearance such as a beard or headgear may cancel your candidature for the online test and Phase II. Keep the same look.
Can SahiSize add the name and date for me?
No, and it should not. IAF wants a real slate held in the photo, not a printed strip. Take the photo with the slate and SahiSize will size it.
