UPSC NDA & NA signature (three times): what is specific to this exam
These UPSC NDA & NA 2026 rules come from secondary sources quoting “National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2026 (Examination Notice No. 10/2026-NDA-II, dated 20.05.2026)”, page 2, last checked on 22 Oct 2026, not yet from the UPSC notice itself. From our UPSC NDA & NA notes
- Many NDA applicants are still in Class 12 and are filling a UPSC form for the first time. The uploads are the same as for the Civil Services exam, but a few things catch first-timers out.
- One signature instead of three. UPSC wants your signature three times, one below the other, in one image. The image is roughly square, 350–500 px on each side, 20–100 KB, in black ink.
- On white paper, draw a 6×6 cm square and sign three times inside it. Photograph it and choose NDA here; the crop locks to a square.
- The three signatures must be yours, even if a parent helps with the rest of the form. Sign the way you will sign the attendance sheet at the exam.
- Most rejections are size or shape. A three-signature image under 350 px a side fails, so crop from the original photo, not a screenshot. A photo under 20 KB fails, so do not use a WhatsApp-forwarded copy.

- Unlike IAF Agniveervayu, which wants 80–150 KB · JPG, UPSC NDA & NA wants 350–500 × 350–500 px · 20–100 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. IAF Agniveervayu sizes
- Unlike JEE Main, which wants 10–100 KB · JPG, UPSC NDA & NA wants 350–500 × 350–500 px · 20–100 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. JEE Main sizes
Upload errors and how to fix them
These are the messages the UPSC NDA & NA portal shows. Each one has a fix.
- Error:
Signature image dimensions should be between 350 and 500 pixels
- Fix: The three-signature image must be square-ish and 350–500 px on each side. SahiSize locks the crop to a square and outputs 500×500 when possible.
- Error:
Only one signature found
- Fix: UPSC wants the signature three times in one image. A single signature is a common reason for a defective application.
