CUET UG signature: what is specific to this exam

These CUET UG 2026 rules come from the NTA notice “CUET (UG) 2026 Information Bulletin”, page 10, last checked on 22 Oct 2026. The CUET UG form usually opens around January–February.

From our CUET UG notes

• CUET UG is the lightest NTA form for uploads. Most candidates need only two files: a photo and a signature. The catch is the signature limit, which is tighter than in NEET or JEE Main.
• Signature. Black ink on white paper, 10–50 KB in JPG. If you saved a signature for NEET or JEE Main, check its size: those forms allow up to 100 KB, so an older file may be too big for CUET.
• A signature that fails is almost always over 50 KB. Crop closer to the ink and fit again. A photo that fails is usually a HEIC file from an iPhone; SahiSize saves a real JPG.

CUET UG signature compared with similar exams

• UGC NET uses the same signature size as CUET UG (10–50 KB · JPG), so one file passes both forms. UGC NET sizes
• Unlike NEET UG, which wants 10–100 KB · JPG, CUET UG wants 10–50 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. NEET UG sizes
• Unlike JEE Main, which wants 10–100 KB · JPG, CUET UG wants 10–50 KB · JPG. Make a separate file for each form. JEE Main sizes

Upload errors and how to fix them

These are the messages the CUET UG portal shows. Each one has a fix.

Error: Signature file size should be between 10 kb to 50 kb

Fix: The signature limit is smaller than the photo limit. Crop tight around the ink and Auto-fit to 10–50 KB.
